Compare models only under a locked setup

Test every model on the same setup, so the score reflects the model.

The technique

Naive “best score per model across any harness” mixes model skill with harness help. A locked factorial grid (model × harness) shows rank reversals and how much variance comes from the harness, so you don't pick a model on an undisclosed setup.

How it was tested

Offline structural sim (no live model): 3 models × 3 harnesses. Naive best-per-model rank differed from locked ranks; harness share of explained variance ~0.95; 3 pairwise rank reversals; 6/6 structural checks passed (reject undisclosed harness).
